PARENTS How to use this information: This is the hardest section of the web site to maintain and to update. Countless hours go into providing these resources and keeping them organized and updated. An important note to parents: Not every resource works for every family. Frequently at support group meetings I hear one parent praising a resource for everything they do, and minutes later I can get the exact opposite reaction from another parent regarding their great dislike for the exact same resource. It is important to ask questions about a referral before you spend valuable time and money with a professional. I have found obtaining recommendations from parents or at support group meetings is better than professional recommendations. For each professional you need, I suggest reviewing at least three professionals who provide a similar product or service. In addition, I would talk to as many parents as you can prior to choosing a professional. Other Notes:
TACA is looking to expand and or partner for a national database. This will be online soon. PROVIDERS/VENDORS How to get on our resource list: Vendors, this is a free resource to you. To qualify to get on this list, please provide the following:
NOTE: We are a mostly volunteer organization. Resource updates are scheduled to occur APPROXIMATELY once a quarter. PLEASE do not call to follow up on a resource change status.
