PARENTS How to use this information:

This is the hardest section of the web site to maintain and to update. Countless hours go into providing these resources and keeping them organized and updated.

An important note to parents: Not every resource works for every family. Frequently at support group meetings I hear one parent praising a resource for everything they do, and minutes later I can get the exact opposite reaction from another parent regarding their great dislike for the exact same resource. It is important to ask questions about a referral before you spend valuable time and money with a professional. I have found obtaining recommendations from parents or at support group meetings is better than professional recommendations. For each professional you need, I suggest reviewing at least three professionals who provide a similar product or service. In addition, I would talk to as many parents as you can prior to choosing a professional.

Other Notes:

1. These are resources in the U.S. that are recommended by other TACA families. These resources are not endorsed by TACA. We cannot guarantee you will like a resource.
2. These resources are compiled and updated quarterly and are ONLY LISTED from a parent that is happy with their services. I always recommend calling and interview people before you pay for a visit.
3. Warning: NOT all resources will work for every family!! Please consider these as a suggestion for helping you in finding qualified candidates for your child!

PROVIDERS/VENDORS How to get on our resource list:

Vendors, this is a free resource to you. To qualify to get on this list, please provide the following:

1. Send an email to Lisa with the following information:

• Heading(s) you are to be listed under (see headings and list)
• Contact name, address, city, state, ZIP & phone number
• If possible, email & web site information

2. Two TACA parent references that recommend you as a vendor resource for other families. These references need to also email their recommendation to Lisa. Please make sure the parents have your company name clearly stated on the email.

NOTE: We are a mostly volunteer organization. Resource updates are scheduled to occur APPROXIMATELY once a quarter. PLEASE do not call to follow up on a resource change status. Our focus is on the families affected by autism not free advertising for vendors.
