TACA Launches
National Help Initiative
Jenny McCarthy Louder than Words

In conjunction with the September 2007 publication of the bestselling book, Louder than Words, Jenny McCarthy wanted to help families across the country, and she has partnered with TACA to do just that.

Since its inception in 2000, TACA has focused its efforts on California families affected by autism. The unprecedented media attention generated by Jenny McCarthy led to thousands of phone call and e-mails and more than 200,000 unique visitors to the TACA website. It is time for TACA to reach out to and provide support, information and community to the rest of the country.

The first phase of the national initiative includes:

  • Working with existing autism organizations and resources for helping families.

  • TACA has hired part-time regional managers who are parents or grandparents of children with autism in six areas of the country to provide support to families who are reaching out for help.

  • TACA will be launching 10-15 chapters across the country in the next 12 months. These chapters will host all TACA programs with the exception of Families in Crisis, marriage and family counseling groups and social skills groups. These and other programs will be added regionally as contributions allow.

All of us at TACA look forward to what the future holds and our ability to provide solid support and hope to families across the country.

One of the primary reasons for TACA's success over the past seven years:  OUR AMAZING VOLUNTEERS. Please contact us on how you can help or be involved.
