Helping families in need in California during the holidays and throughout the year is an important effort as part of TACA’s mission. Here is how you can be involved and help an important effort in your community.

TACA Holiday Needs:

For TACA’s Annual Adopt a Family during the holidays we need unwrapped toys or food store gift certificates to deliver to families in need. Last year we helped over 60 children between the ages of 1 to 15 years of age. TACA would appreciate toys starting at $20 in value.

Unwrapped toys

Some examples of toys needed for both boys and girls by age are:

1-3 years	Winnie the Pooh, Elmo, Disney, Wiggles soft toys, “noise” toys with buttons & sounds
4-6 years	Puzzles, age-appropriate board games, Power Rangers, Barbie, Disney music CDs & DVDs, scooter (“razor” scooter)
7-10 years	Age-appropriate board games, sports equipment (basketball, football, soccer), gift certificates at Target or Wal-Mart in increments of $20.

Just contact us with your name, address and when the toys will be ready for pick up. It would be greatly appreciated if donations could be delivered or mailed to TACA in Newport Beach.

Food Store Gift Certificates

The food store gift certificates are delivered to verified families in need with children affected by Autism. Some of the stores we are looking for help with are:

• Trader Joes
• Vons/Pavillons
• Albertsons
• Ralphs

Gift certificates are needed in increments of $25 and $50. Please be sure to include the store receipts as often the information is not scanned so the cards are usable.

Diapers:

Diapers are also in great need - in particular the Pampers or Huggies brands from newborn to 3 years of age.

All donations of toys, diapers, or food store gift certificates are tax deductible. Be sure to include your name, address, phone and donated items information with value. You will receive a tax write off for your donation in the mail.
